Very Rev. Fr. John Lankeit, Rector, Ss. Simon & Jude Cathedral

As you are likely aware, the English-speaking countries of the Roman Catholic Church will introduce a new translation of the Roman Missal on the First Sunday of Advent (November 27, 2011). The Roman Missal is the ritual text containing prayers and instructions for the celebration of the Mass. While you may not have known the book’s name, you have all seen it on the altar, or held by an altar boy for the priest at the presider’s chair during Mass. Though the original text is in Latin, every edition you see during Mass celebrated in a vernacular language is a translation of the original Latin text.

To prepare the faithful to receive the new translation, the Cathedral is undertaking a eight-week series of catechetical "sermons" on the new translation. Here you will find the audio of those sermons.
